The skills are aligned with the competencies provided for in the K-to-12 Basic Education Program developed by the Department of Education. Every lesson begins with a reading selection, which may be any of the following literary types: story, folktale, verse, poem, essay, playlet, dialogue, mime, or even a comic strip.
